Mahaffey makes the return trip to Colerain Township and takes over the Northwest Volleyball (pending board approval) program for Calvin Hester.  This will be Mahaffey’s first head coaching job at the high school level.  She previously served as North College Hill Middle School's Head Coach and Math teacher.  Danielle enjoyed a very accomplished high school career at Northwest from 2014-2018 earning 3 1st All-Conference and All-City honors.  She finished her time at Northwest with 919 kills, 346 blocks, 474 digs, and 127 serving aces as a four-year starter.  She would continue her career at the University of Tennessee where she helped the Volunteers reach the NCAA tournament three times.  Her college honors include include SEC Academic Honor Roll (2018-2021), AVCA All-American (2021) VolleyballMag.com All-American (2021), Defensive Player of the Week (9/27/2021), AVCA Southeast All-Region (2021).
