Northwest high School Summer Training 2020

Northwest High School Summer Training 2020

It is with great anticipation that I send this email because that means we are starting the 2020-21 sports season.  There are many unknowns that we are facing this season mainly, will we play sports in the Fall.  The fact that we are going to start training for sports is a very good sign that things are moving in the right direction.

With that being said, there are many protocols and processes that the Northwest Local School District and the Northwest Athletic Department have put in place to make the sporting experience safe and enjoyable.

There are a few things that we need you to do before we start training for athletics and they are as follows:

Before First Practice

Parents and students will need to go to the Final Forms portal and either signup and register for your Fall sport and sign off on all forms that are required to participate. Or if you are already signed up on Final Forms you will sign off again on all forms required to participate.

 Final Forms Portal:

On the day of practice

Students will be required to do a pre-screen for COVID 19 daily.  The pre-screen will be conducted by the athletic trainer and require a temperature check using an infrared scanner.  The threshold for students to be allowed to practice will be 100 degrees.  Any student who has a temperature higher than 100 degrees will not be allowed to practice that day.

Prior to first practice of an athlete

Northwest Athletics has a waiver to be signed and returned prior to the first practice.  This waiver is an assumption of risk by the parents and students while the student is participating in training at Northwest High School.  This waiver will be available through this website or when you arrive for training.

The Northwest Athletic Department REQUIRES that every athlete arrives to practice ready to participate because we will not have the use of the locker room. Secondly, athletes must have a mask, this does not have to be medical grade and can be cloth.  In addition, athletes must bring their own water bottle, we will not be permitted to serve water from any community water container.
